iPhone 4s and iPad 2 Untethered jailbreak 5.0.1

I got a request for posting the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4s 5.0.1.
All the requests of my regular visitors are given maximum priority, so I am going to describe the whole process in  a very easy way.

This is the latest firmware and on the latest device, so we won't be using redsn0w this time. The program used for this is called Absinthe. It is from the developers of GreenPois0n.

A step by step guide:::

First of all you will need to download Absinthe. (Download Here )
After you have downloaded Absinthe, extract it.
Open the extracted folder. Right Click on the Absinthe icon.
Goto Compatibility--- hit run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3.
Apply the changes.
Right Click on Absinthe again and Run As Administrator.
Connect your iPhone 4s or iPad 2 to the computer.

Press Jailbreak.
It will say restoring and all those, leave it as it goes.
(DO NOT Unplug your device untill the whole process is done.)
Once the program says Almost Done, Unlock your iPhone, go ahead and unlock your iPhone.

You will notice Absinthe icon on the springboard.
Click on the icon. ( You will need to be connected to wifi for this)
After clicking, the phone will restart and you will have a Cydia icon in place of Absinthe. 
Enjoy your jailbroken iPhone 4s or iPad 2.

( When you click Absinthe icon, if it gives you an error, Close it and goto Setting. You will see new selection named VPN. Toggle it on. It will give you an error and the iPhone will crash and after it restarts, you will be jailbroken.)

Customize your iPhone with Themes.

Would you like to make your iPhone or iPod look this cool??

Well I am here with a solution to that problem. The main reason I thought about posting this basic thing about iPhone is my recent job. Recently, I have been working as a part-time iPhone specialist in one of mobile shops in Dallas and many of the customers didn't know anything about all these stuffs. And I don't want my visitors to be that primitive!!! ;)


In order to get all these cool themes, you will need to have Cydia---- in other words, a jailbroken device.
After you have jailbroken, the steps to get these cool effects are just so easy.

Steps:::
Goto Cydia.
Click on Search
Type Winterboard.
Click the first one that comes up.(You don't need to add any repo to get it, its a built in repo)
As soon as you install winterboard, the springboard will restart and then you are good to go.

After the installation:
You will need to get the themes for winterboard and there are alot of them in Cydia--- and when I say a lot it means A LOT. Go ahead browse through the ones you feel like and just download them.
Goto Setting(on your phone)
Goto Winterboard
and select the theme you downloaded.
Spring board will restart and you will have your own unique iPhone.

Make Your iPhone Faster

Well it is a fact that everyone wants their phone to be fast. And how awesome would it be if you too could make your iphone run faster than before without any difficult process.

In order to do this, you will need to have two Cydia tweaks:

SBSetting : 

This is a tweak that will make it really easy to kill all the unwanted background tasks, free up your device memory, and lots more. It is like iPhone task manager. It is really handy, you can toggle wifi on/off, airplane mode, everything in a very easy to use interface.

FakeClockUp: 

FakeClockUp, as the name is, it is a tweak that will fake up the loading time for an app to open. You will be able to increase the load time or decrease it depending on your preference. Goto settings and scroll down to fakeClockUp.

And now I will be showing you how to get those amazing tweaks and use them to the max.

SBSetting
First of all, you will need to have a jailbroken iPhone.
Goto Cydia.
Once in cydia, you need to click the Search button on the bottom.
Since SBSetting is already in the BigBoss repo, you wont need to add any repo.
On the search screen, type SBSetting.
Find the SBSettings app. (It will be a little bit down, you will see icon that seems like two faces and it will say from BigBoss)
Once you find it, go ahead and install it.
Well thats it for SBSetting.

FakeClockUp
In order to get fakeclockup you need to use Cydia.
Goto Cydia.
You will need to add a repo for fakeclockup.
Goto Manage-----Sources-----Edit-----Add
Type repo.insanelyi.com
Hit Done.
Now Goto the Insanelyi repo and find fakeclockup or you can search for the tweak.
After you install the FakeClockUp, goto Settings (of your iPhone) and click FakeClockUp.
Select how fast or slow you want the phone to act.

These two tweaks should make your iPhone faster than it used to be. I personally have tried this one and yes it works fantastic. Not only making the iPhone faster, SBSettings also gives you a really easy operation of your iPhone.

Do you love to get all the apps for free?
Well, who doesn't. And now on this posting, I will be telling you how to get all those apps you ever imagined to get for free.
You don't need to be a real genius or hacker in order to do so. Our iPhone gurus have done so and all we need to do is follow their lead.
First of all, you will need to have a jailbroken iDevice. If you don't know how to jailbreak, then refer to my older postings. The main purpose of jailbreak is to install Cydia on your device through which you will be doing this process.
On your iphone, goto Cydia.
On cydia, click the MANAGE tab.
On the manage, select SOURCES button.
After doing so, on the top of the next screen, press EDIT
And finally click ADD.

On that screen where you add, you need to type as below:
http://cydia.hackulo.us
This will add the hackulo repo to your iPhone.
After the source is added, goto the source page back again and browse the Hackulo repo.
Find the app that says Installous, download it on your iphone and you will be good to go.

Best Cydia Repos

Now that we all are a little bit familiar about what repos mean in cydia and what they do, we can move on to adding the best repos available in the market.
Here I will be mentioning few of the repos that are really popular among the iDevice users. These repos are so called the top 5 repos, but here in my list they are not in order, its just a list of the best 5 repos. And not to forget these are the addition to the repos already in cydia. BigBoss repo, ModMyi. etc are already inbuilt in cydia.

1) Hackulo repo:
Added as : cydia.hackulo.us
May be not all of you know, you can download almost all the apps from app store for free. But in order to do so, you will need to have a program called Installous. Hackulo repo does this job. Hackulo is by far the best repo available in the cydia world.

2) SinfuliPhone repo:
Added as: sinfuliphonerepo.com
Another best repo available so far. MyWi, which enables your iphones 3G internet to act as wifi which can be used for any other device. Also this is a great repo for cracked games too.

3) Xsellize repo:
Added as: cydia.xselllize.com
If you are into playing the emulator games then this is the repo for you. Many many different kinds of emulators, gameboy being one of them is available in this repo. Also some of the greatest themes for iphones are found here.

4) Insanelyi repo:
Added as: repo.insanelyi.com
This repo is basically famous for some of the best tweaks. Most famous apps from this repo would be Android Lock, App Switch, AnyRing......

5) P0dulo repo
Added as: p0dulo.com
This is somewhat unheard kind of repo yet it is by far one of the best repo. Everything you need from themes to tweaks to free games, this one has everything. Try it out and know for yourself.

Adding more fun to CYDIA

Well just the basic Cydia could make your jaw drop!! Imagine having more addition to it?! That would be awesome right?!
Yes, you are just right my friend. Cydia with some more tweaks could beat anything in th iOS world. The tweaks that can be done to Cydia itself is called adding a source (aka repo) to Cydia.
To add a repo in cydia, it is really easy.

1. Open Cydia.
2. Click Manage.
3. Click Sources.
4. Click Edit.
5. And click Add.

After doing that you will be on the page that looks like this:

This is when you will add the repo you want to be in Cydia.

Repos are the sources for cydia that will have the things to modify your iDevice. Some repos are famous for their cracked games and some are famous for the tweaks that they do to the device. So before adding any repo, just keep in mind what you need for the device because adding too many repos will result in poor performance of Cydia.

Its been quite a while we have been talking all about jailbreak. Now its time to know more about the key element in jailbreak process, yes people we are talking about CYDIA.
Cydia is basically a software that enables users to install software packages on the iOS. Cydia enables third-party apps to run smooth on your jailbroken iDevice. Not only that, cydia is also useful source if you want to get some of the coolest mods for your device or just get some free apps and games.
Freeman was the one to introduce this amazing useful software among us.
That is pretty much about cydia in shortcut but if we go on detail the tale of Cydia cannot be explained in just few hours. Its like explaining the whole universe of iOS.

Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Untethered

As the title said, we will now be working on the latest iOS on market. The iOS 5.0.1 is made for the advanced iDevices like iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. But you can still run it on older devices with some mods and that will result in poor performance of the device.
I didn't write about the types of jailbreaks on previous posts. There are 2 kinds of jailbreak:
Tethered and Untethered.
Tethered jailbreak means everytime you restart your device, you will have to connect it to the computer and on redsn0w select the just boot now. This kind of jailbreak comes as soon as new iOS is formulated in the market.
Untethered jailbreak means your phone will be jailbroken yet you can restart it as usual without having to connect to the computer.
Here we will be discussing about the untethered jailbreak of iOS 5.0.1 which is just released few weeks ago.
Redsn0w keeps on updating it and this time we will be using redsn0w 0.9.10 b1 Download Here

First open redsn0w. It has a new interface than you usually deal with.

You will then click on the EXTRAS.
After than you will have to click SELECT IPSW.Select the iOS 5.0.1 that you downloaded.
Hit BACK.
Press JAILBREAK.
Sit back and enjoy the jailbreak do its job and finally use the full of your iDevice.

Jailbreak iOS 4.0

And now I am back with the jailbreak for iOS 4.0.
iOS 4.0 is basically meant for iPhone 3Gs and up. You can still upgrade your older device but that will make it run really slow, even with some tweaks from cydia.
Without any further delay, lets move on to the jailbreak process.

Jailbreak iPhone firmware 3.1.3

Ok now we all can start on our first jailbreak on this site.
We will be starting with the easy yet capable of all the new functions firmware i.e.3.1.3.
The required things are:
iTunes (Latest)
Restore Firmware 3.1.3 ( Download link below)
Redsn0w 0.9.4 ( Download link below)

First of all you will need to RESTORE your iDevice to the factory setting. To do the restore you need to have the firmware downloaded. Download Firmware

After the restore,you can open redsn0w 0.9.4. Download redsn0w here
On the redsn0w interface, click on the BROWSE and select the FIRMWARE you downloaded before.

After that step, you will need to click INSTALL CYDIA (Unlock too if you are doing on iPhone 2G).

Then you will need to put your device in DFU mode. To do so, you will need to turn off the device first.It should be plugged in at the time.Then press the power button for 3 seconds. Holding the power button press the home button too. After approx. 10 seconds let go of the power button but keep on holding the home button for approx. 20 seconds. This should put your device into DFU mode.

Now you can just sit back and enjoy the rest of jailbreak all by itself.

After this process, you will have cydia installed on your iDevice.

Note: DO NOT interrupt while the jailbreak takes place, just to be in safe side. Also jailbreak voids your warranty with Apple.
